From Garda to Calabria: the 2025 season è the best ever (for those who have been able to read it)
While many talk about crisis and declines in attendance, I tell you another truth.
A truth made of numbers, strategies, and results.
Right now, I am in Calabria, on the wonderful Costa degli Dei, where for over 12 years I have been following numerous structures as a revenue manager. These days I am meeting entrepreneurs, colleagues, and local operators, even outside my network, and almost all of them complain about the same thing:
"This season is weak. Demand has decreased. The market is strange."
And here is my answer, simple and direct:
What if I told you that for the structures I collaborate with, this is the best season ever?
Numbers in hand
From Lake Garda to Calabria, we are recording real increases from 22% to 35% compared to the 2024 season.
It’s not luck. It’s not a coincidence. It’s the result of a precise and constant strategy.
The season has changed, not collapsed.
Yes, it’s true: tourist demand has changed its rhythm and behaviors.
The tourist is more demanding, more attentive. The booking curves are different. But the market has not “disappeared”: it has transformed.
And those who continued to work with old tools, or worse, with emotional reactions (suddenly lowering prices, copying competitors, using algorithms without human guidance)... have lost their way.
The 5 rules of the game (that never change):
- Plan the season well
- Build a coherent revenue and communication strategy
- Monitor demand and rates daily
- Invest in your product, without looking at what others are doing
- Trust professionals and work hard, always
Doing revenue management does not mean having software.
It means having a vision. And following it every day.
Conclusion: the 2025 season is not difficult. It’s for those who are ready.
In the meantime, I continue to work, even from wonderful places like L' Hotel Villaggio Stromboli, where I am today. And between a meeting and a rate curve, I will allow myself a dive with my friend Matteo, owner of Borgo Donna Canfora, about whom I will tell you soon in another article, for his vision and clarity of objectives.
My job is not just numbers. It’s passion, presence, and vision.
And in 2025, those who have been able to look ahead… now reap the rewards.
See you next time,
Massimo Diodato
